A new home in the Arts District

Nine years after two people started a server in a garage, Horizon Studios has a permanent home in downtown Los Angeles. Come see it.

In 2017, Horizon was two people, one server, and a garage in Echo Park with bad insulation. In 2026, we have a permanent home in the Los Angeles Arts District: two floors, a motion capture stage, a proper audio booth, and enough whiteboard space to plan a continent.

We moved in this spring. The building is a 1920s warehouse that used to house a printing company. We kept the original brick, the loading dock, and one very stubborn freight elevator. We added a server room, a library, and a kitchen that has already become the most important room in the studio.

Why Los Angeles

Because this is where we are from, and because the city is part of the work. San Aurelio's light, its streets, its particular mix of glamour and grit — none of that comes from a reference pack. It comes from walking outside.

We also believe in being physically together. Horizon is a hybrid studio: most of the team is in Los Angeles, and a smaller group works remotely across North America. We fly everyone in four times a year for a full week of collaboration, and the whole studio gathers in person for two build weeks each year.

“The garage was a starting point. This is a place to build from.”

Come by

We host an open studio night for the Horizon RP community twice a year. The next one is in December. If you are a player, a modder, or someone who wants to make games in Los Angeles, we would love to meet you. Details go out through the Discord first.

And yes, the original server's power supply is on a shelf in reception. It still turns on.
